Bergtheim, 04.04.2023 - Guest at Ferkinghoff International U.S. Consul General Timothy Liston and Bavarian State Secretary Roland Weigert, MdL
As a representative and importer of well-known US brands, Ferkinghoff International in Nuremberg for IWA Outdoor 2023 attracted special attention in the political environment. On the one hand, through the visit of the Bavarian State Secretary Roland Weigert, MdL (Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy), whose responsibilities also include foreign trade promotion. The intention of the economic policy of his house is to strengthen Bavarian companies so that they can successfully assert themselves in national and international competition.
With his visit to Ferkinghoff as an example of a long-standing successful medium-sized company with its connections to international markets, he underlined these intentions and informed himself with the managing directors Andrea and Achim Ferkinghoff in particular about the challenges of the industry and the handling of these issues in entrepreneurial activities. Weigert himself is an enthusiastic hunter and took the opportunity to inform himself at Ferkinghoff about their latest products.
With a view to the European market and the close cooperation with US companies, Ferkinghoff International, on the other hand, has been in exchange with the US Consulate in Munich for quite some time. Also in Ferkinghoff's anniversary year, U.S. Consul General Timothy Liston visited the booth of the importer and its U.S. producers at IWA Outdoor. In conversation with management Andrea and Achim Ferkinghoff, he underscored the high level of interest in import companies serving markets in close cooperation with U.S. partners, learned about the associated challenges in organizational and formal processes, and exchanged views with the representative of the brands represented at the booth.
In addition to his many political commitments and efforts to maintain good transatlantic relations, the Consul General has another passion - sports. So he also knows the famous US marksman Jerry Miculek, who was available for autographs at Ferkinghoff's booth and did not miss the opportunity to get a personal dedication.
