Mossberg expands the pistol model series with the compact pistol MC2c in caliber 9mm Luger

Bergtheim, 31.03.2021 - After the phenomenal success of Mossberg’s first self-loading pistol MC1sc in the 100-year history of the company, Mossberg presents the next variant of this feature-rich model series: the MC2c (Compact) caliber 9mm pistol.

The combination of excellent ergonomics, function-oriented features and double-stack magazines makes this pistol a new top contender for concealed carrying, hunting or sport shooting.

The MC2c impresses with its dimensions with a 3.9 "(9.91cm) barrel, a total length of 7.1" (18.03 cm) a surprisingly narrow width of 1.10 "(2.79 cm), a height of 4.90 "(12.45 cm) and a weight of only 21 ounces (595 g) unloaded.
During the development, the focus was set on compact size, perfect ergonomics, and low weight.

In addition to being comfortable to carry, ergonomic features of this compact pistol allow comfortable shooting. The handle has a hand-filling palm swell, a 1911 grip angle, and Mossberg's rough "Signature" texture, which enables a secure, firm grip in all conditions. The stainless steel slide has aggressive serrations at the front and rear for secure handling. The magazine catch is located behind the trigger guard and can be repositioned for right and left-handed shooters. The same applies to the models with a cross-bolt safety, where the safety switch can be easily reversed.

The MC2 frames are made from fiberglass-reinforced polymer and have an extremely high strength and dimensional stiffness. Furthermore, the material is impact-resistant and largely resistant to chemical influences. The slides are optionally available in Black DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) or a matt stainless finish.
The Mossberg STS (Safe Take Down) system is integrated into the slide, which, unlike the handguns from popular competitors, allows the pistol to be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance without having to pull the trigger. The pistol is also equipped with low 3-dot steel sights that can be adjusted laterally in the dovetail, a machined stainless steel barrel with 1-16 "twist in black DLC finish, front rail, enlarged trigger guard, and with a flat trigger with integrated safety blade. The trigger has crisp break, a short reset, reduced overtravel, and a trigger weight of approx. 5.5 pounds (2,495 g).

The double-stack MC2c magazines (13-round flush fit, 15-round extended) are made of coated steel with low friction and high wear resistance. The follower of the magazines is clearly visible and the base plate can easily be removed for the purpose of disassembly and cleaning of the magazine.

Recognized as the world's leading manufacturer of pump action shotguns, Mossberg has now firmly established itself in the market of compact, concealed handguns with the successful introduction of the subcompact MC1sc pistol last year, and the presentation of the MC2c this year.
